Anti-Puncture Tape Fitting Instructions
These fitting instructions are for anti-puncture tape which has not been cut to size. If you have purchased tyre and inner tube sets which include anti-puncture tape, the tape will already have been cut to length, the corners rounded, and the tape placed inside the tyres, so you can ignore steps 1 to 6.
If you have purchased “Ready-to-Fit” anti-puncture tape, the tape will already have been cut to length and the corners rounded, so you can ignore steps 1 to 3.
If you have purchased “Ready-to-Fit” anti-puncture tape, the tape will already have been cut to length and the corners rounded, so you can ignore steps 1 to 3.
Fitting Anti-Puncture Tape:
- Tuck the tape inside the tyre
- Overlap the ends by approx 10-20mm and cut to length (with scissors)
- Snip the corners of the tape so there are no sharp edges
- Ensure the tape is sitting central in the tyre
- Put a couple of pumps of air in the inner tube (just enough to shape it)
- Put the inner tube inside the tyre so it holds the tape in place
- Fit one side of the tyre onto the wheel, at the same time insert the valve through the valve hole
- Push the second side of the tyre over the wheel rim using your thumbs
- Ensure the tyre in sitting evenly on the wheel rim and inflate to full pressure
IMPORTANT When fitting anti-puncture tape:
- REMOVE SHARP CORNERS BEFORE FITTING
- LEAVE 10-20MM OVERLAP
